Workshop #2 -The Art of Creative Portraiture
This is art, not science.
The portrait is the most common and most challenging task as a photographer. Approached through a series of visuals and demonstration, I'll share insider tips that will make a dramatic impact on your outdoor portrait results. You will learn by real practice - without the cost of film, there's no reason why you shouldn't!
Throughout the day, we'll add new and exciting elements to your process. First, we'll remove the mechanical barriers of your digital camera by giving you a solid understanding of exposure. Then we're going to unleash the creativity! We're going to delve into some secrets of strong composition and background selection. You'll learn to identify, manipulate, and control light, using it to evoke emotion in your images. This is when you're really going to see your portraits evolve. How would you like to know about some ultra-low-budget DIY tools that you can use to add a professional touch to portraits of your family and friends? This and more will be shared in this fresh & creative workshop that will give you the skills to take your portraits to a new level.
Requirements:
A digital camera capable of manual settings of both Shutter speed and Aperture (F-Stop). All DSLR's will meet this criteria, and a lot of newer point and shoots will as well. Learning from his father who gave him the gift of his first SLR camera at the age of twelve, Sean has utilized and turned every opportunity into one where he could apply his photography skills while continuing to learn and expand upon his knowledge base.
He utilizes the latest digital technology and innovation to achieve big- budget looks for anyone. Combining his creative shooting techniques with his keen eye for the right moment, Sean has refined his technique with years of application.
One thing Sean has always been attracted to with photography is people. Riveted by events and the magic that he has captured through his lens witnessing every day life, Sean's zest for photography continues to grow roots and wings.
